Renowned actor Hina Dilpazeer revealed that she was denied an award after being invited to attend a Pakistani award show, with her trophy ultimately being given to another artist.

In a recent interview, Hina was asked if she ever felt disheartened by not receiving the recognition she deserved for her outstanding work in the entertainment industry.

The Baandi actor responded that she has never chased awards or harboured any resentment for not being recognised.

She emphasised that the audience’s feedback and their respect are what keep her grounded and dedicated to her craft.

Hina also pointed out that the tendency to overlook hardworking artists often “stems from insecurities.”

She added, "This tendency exists all over the world, not just in Pakistan, but it only lasts for a short time because truth does not need evidence."

The Mithu Aur Aapa actor shared that she received an international award for her first project, Burns Road Ki Nilofer, and went on to star in major hits like Bulbulay and Quddusi Sahab Ki Bewah.

"After my initial success, some people tried to bring me down," she said.

She recounted an incident where she was invited to Houston to attend an award show.

Although she initially refused due to travel difficulties, the organisers insisted, offering her business class tickets and informing her that she would be receiving an award.

However, Hina revealed that while she “was seated in the front row, ready to accept her award, the announcement was made in someone else's name.”

Although dejected by the incident, Hina said that after the show, when she returned to the hotel lobby, she was met by a crowd of excited fans, particularly children, who were thrilled to see "Momo" (her popular character from Bulbulay).

She recalled seeing a thalassemia patient bouncing with joy at meeting her, which shifted her perspective. "I apologised to God for feeling bad about not receiving the award because I realised I was already blessed with so much love from my fans," she said.

Hina also mentioned that the award show organisers never apologised to her for denying her the award.
