Injured Saif Ali Khan rushed to hospital by son in rickshaw: reports India media

Indian media reported that Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was rushed to the hospital by his son in an auto-rickshaw after he was attacked with a knife by a burglar who broke into his home in the early hours of Thursday.

The Hindustan Times reported that Saif Ali Khan sustained serious injuries in the attack, after which his wife Kareena Kapoor informed his son Ibrahim Ali Khan about the incident.

Following the news, Ibrahim, along with his mother Kareena and Saif’s ex-wife Amrita Singh, rushed to the scene. With no driver or househelp available, Ibrahim used an auto-rickshaw to transport his injured father to the hospital.

Some media outlets claimed that the knife was still lodged in Saif Ali Khan’s back as he was transported to the hospital.

Saif Ali Khan’s team confirmed to the media that the actor arrived at Lilavati Hospital at 3:30 am.

Ibrahim and Sara Ali Khan are the children from Saif Ali Khan's first marriage to Amrita Singh.

The incident reportedly occurred at Saif's residence in Mumbai's Bandra in the early hours of Thursday, around 2:30 am, when an intruder entered Khan’s home. The actor engaged in a scuffle to prevent the burglary, during which he was stabbed.

The Hum Tum star underwent surgeries and is currently receiving further medical treatment at the hospital.

"Saif has six injuries, two of which are deeper. One of the wounds is dangerously close to his spine," said Dr Niraj Uttamani, COO of Lilavati Hospital.

The Hindustan Times reported that Khan suffered multiple injuries over his body. However, his back is stable following surgery, and he is able to move his hands and legs. His condition remains stable.

As of now, no suspects have been arrested, and police investigations are ongoing.

Several Indian media outlets confirmed that Kareena was at home with their children, Taimur and Jeh, when the incident occurred.
