Renowned screenwriter Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar, who always remains in headlines with his contentious statements, once again stirred controversy with his latest remarks surrounding men.

The scriptwriter recently appeared in a podcast hosted by Hafiz Ahmed where he discussed various topics, including his career and personal life.

During the interview, the host asked Khalil about his opinion on run mureed, a negative way of referring to men who let women take charge.

"Whoever isn't a run mureed, isn't a man," Qamar responded.

"If my friend tells me he fights with his wife, I would tell him to leave the gathering," the Meray Paas Tum Ho writer added.

However, in the same show, Qamar said that women in Pakistan will become prostitutes if men are not allowed to have four wives, a practice permitted by Sharia law.

"In Pakistan, there are 36% boys and 64% girls. If we don't follow this Sharia principle, a segment of women will become prostitutes," the screenwriter said.
