Renowned YouTuber Rajab Butt has been named in a fatwa issued by a Lahore-based religious seminary, which calls for the registration of an FIR against him over alleged disrespect of religious figures in one of his vlogs, published during the Islamic month of Muharram.
The fatwa, issued by the Darul Afta in Lahore, stated that Rajab Butt used disrespectful language against the companions of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in a video he shared on his YouTube channel during Muharram.
According to the fatwa, the companions of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) are revered in the Holy Quran and Hadith and must be treated with respect and dignity.
It further urged the government to ban Rajab Butt’s social media accounts to prevent him from spreading such derogatory content. The fatwa also called for a ban on his appearances on both digital and electronic media.

While strongly condemning the alleged remarks, the fatwa emphasised that any action against the YouTuber must be taken through legal means, and urged the public to refrain from taking the law into their own hands.
The statement also noted that this is not the first time Rajab Butt has been involved in controversy. He previously faced backlash for allegedly disrespecting religion by launching a perfume named "295", a reference to Pakistan’s blasphemy law.
