"Love You, Kareena Kapoor," says Khaqan Shahnawaz after his ageist remark

Actor Khaqan Shahnawaz, who recently faced backlash for his agesit remarks about Kareena Kapoor Khan attempted to make amends by expressing his admiration for the Bollywood star, stating that he never intended to disrespect the actress.

In a recent Instagram post, Khaqan shared photos from a Christmas party hosted by Kubra Khan and addressed the uproar over his "ageist" comments about Kareena Kapoor Khan in the caption.

Tagging Kareena in his post, he wrote: “Love you, Kareena Kapoor Khan. Don’t believe the haters.” He further added, “I meant no disrespect.”

The post also included a video of Shahnawaz sitting at a table with Kubra Khan, where he lightheartedly remarked, “You all take too much tension; I just post.”

The controversy began during an appearance on a private TV show, where a fan expressed a desire to see Khaqan work alongside Kareena Kapoor.

In response, Khaqan jokingly said, "I can be her son. Yes, I can definitely be her son," adding that the Jab We Met star is much older than him and he could only portray the role of her son in a movie.

His comments sparked outrage among Kareena Kapoor’s fans, who criticized him on social media for his perceived disrespect.

Many accused him of seeking attention by criticising a Bollywood icon, while others dismissed his remarks as irrelevant, pointing out that Kareena would likely not care about comments from someone unfamiliar to her.
