Javeria Saud and Maya Khan faced backlash online for their insensitive reaction to a man seeking a herbal remedy for infertility during a live Ramadan transmission.

Social media users criticised the duo for trivializing a sensitive issue in a distasteful manner on national television, especially during a Ramadan program, where meaningful and respectful discussions are expected.

In the viral clip, Javeria Saud and Maya Khan were seen standing with a herbalist who was sharing various home remedies for different health concerns.

During the show, a caller inquired about a remedy to aid conception, explaining that he had retired a year ago and, despite trying spiritual, herbal, and medical treatments, he and his wife had been unable to conceive.

As the caller posed his question, Javeria Saud asked whether he was seeking the remedy for himself or his wife, prompting Maya Khan to burst into laughter.

As the herbalist tried to respond to the caller’s question, Javeria Saud erupted into laughter as well.

Many condemned the hosts of the Ramadan transmission for disrespecting the sanctity of the holy month by airing content that was perceived as insensitive and inappropriate.

Ramadan transmissions in Pakistan frequently come under criticism for their content, with many arguing that they often cross ethical boundaries that should be maintained, particularly during such a sacred time.
