'My forefathers were from Lahore': Yo Yo Honey Singh wish to explore Pakistan

The cross-border familial connections represent the most heartwarming aspect of the complex relationship between India and Pakistan. Many people, including celebrities on both sides of the border, have their ancestral ties with the respective countries. Recently, Bollywood actress Tabassum Hashmi, also known as Tabu, disclosed that her father hailed from Pakistan. Similarly, Nargis Fakhri, a prominent Bollywood star not originally from India, revealed that her mother was Czech while her father was Pakistani.
Recently, the celebrated Indian rapper Hirdesh Singh, popularly known as Yo Yo Honey Singh revealed his familial connection to Pakistan during an interview with Dubai-based Radio Jockey (RJ) Tayyab Arshmaan.
Honey Singh, who enjoys a substantial following in Pakistan, expressed gratitude for the love and appreciation he receives from his Pakistani fans. He encouraged them to continue showing their affection towards him.
During the interview, he highlighted his unique bond with Pakistan, revealing that his family originates from Lahore. Honey Singh expressed a deep longing to visit Pakistan and Nankana Sahib, aiming to reconnect with his heritage.
"I would just say that keep loving me and supporting me like this. If the opportunity arises for me to visit Pakistan, and fate allows it - my forefathers were from Lahore - I'd like to visit Lahore- I would love to explore the city, go to Nankana Sahib to pay my respect, and meet you all," the hip hop vocalist said.
Honey Singh’s fans were surprised to discover his ancestral roots in Lahore. Artists from both India and Pakistan continue to explore innovative means of connection, proving that cultural ties can sometimes transcend political divides.
