Veteran actress Nadia Jameel highlighted that while many in Pakistan speak out against LGBTQ issues, few address the widespread epidemic of child abuse in the country.
A video of Nadia Jameel addressing a group of women went viral on social media, in which she discussed the grave realities of society.
The actress said that some time ago, a journalist with a hidden camera discovered nine child prostitution dens in Lahore and other cities, where child prostitution between the ages of 7 and 16 was happening.
The journalist also made a video of child prostitution dens through a hidden camera, in which he was heartbroken to see the underage children being exploited.
The actress stated that in our society, the exploitation of young boys in schools, homes, educational institutions and other places has become a norm and no one is ready to speak on it.
According to the actress, the sexual abuse of minors continues in places where young boys work like coal mines to truck stations, but no one speaks out against such practices.
She further said "If you ask a child who is a victim of sexual abuse, he says he will grow up to be a truck driver, because the driver is the same and he needs the same boy, but there are a lot of men in the coal mines and factories and the boys have to go to different men,"
Nadia got emotional, stating that if we can't do anything against the practice as serious as child abuse, why do we raise our voice against selective issues in our society.
