Netizens slam reporter for ‘insensitive’ question to Meera

Lollywood actress Meera recently spoke to a journalist who questioned her about her marriage plans following Neelam Muneer’s recent wedding. Her emotional response drew sympathy from netizens, who criticised the reporter for his insensitive questions.

During an interview with a local news channel, the journalist asked Meera, known for her candid and often headline-grabbing remarks, when she planned to marry.

The Baaji star, visibly upset, responded with a sense of grief, saying, “No one wants to marry me.”

The interview began with the reporter asking, “Neelam Muneer is married now; when are you planning to tie the knot?” Meera paused, sighed deeply, and remained silent, looking visibly uncomfortable.

The journalist then pressed on, asking, “Are you thinking about it or trying to express something through your silence?”

Meera replied, “I have regrets.” When asked whether she regretted Neelam Muneer’s marriage or the delay in her own, Meera clarified, “I feel bad about delay in my marriage.”

In a follow-up question, the reporter asked, “Did you find the man of your dreams or a Dubai Sheikh?” To this, Meera, in a saddened tone, said, “No one wants to marry me.”

The reporter further probed, “Why do you think no one wants to marry you?” Meera, holding back her emotions, responded, “I don’t know, but no one wants to marry me.”

Netizens were quick to express their outrage over the journalist’s insensitivity, calling him out for his intrusive and inappropriate questions. 

Actress Ghana Ali also came to Meera’s defense, commenting, “There’s sadness in her voice. What’s wrong with this man?”

Another Instagram user wrote, “Shame on the insensitive reporter. Feeling bad for Meera.”

Many social media users sympathised with Meera, wishing her happiness and hoping she would find a loving partner.
