Acclaimed morning show host Nida Yasir shared her unique approach to parenting, which according to her is inspired by her parents.
The actress recently appeared in a podcast named "The MM Show - by Masarrat Misbah", where she discussed her style of raising her three children.
In the interview, she revealed that her mother, who raised her to be confident and independent, would often make her and her sisters travel by public transport despite having a private car and driver at home.
"We used to go to college by car, but we would return home by public bus. We had a car and driver at home, but our mother made this a part of our upbringing," she said.
"She [mother] always wanted us to be confident and able to face the difficulties of life."
The Nadaniyaan actress revealed that she started doing jobs at an early age "despite having a strong financial background."
Nida said she has also adopted a similar approach with her own children.
"Despite having cars, my son uses Bykea to commute. I tried to instill it in them [her children]," she added.
When her daughter started behaving entitled, saying she would use the big car, Nida said, "I said her no and told her to use the small car, because my parents taught us to remain down-to-earth."
Nida Yasir also shared that she gave her children second-hand mobile phones and iPads and encouraged them to earn and buy things themselves, teaching them the value of hard work and independence.
