Rajab Butt, four others to face trial in alleged sexual assault case

A sessions court in Lahore on Tuesday ordered YouTuber Rajab Butt and four other suspects to appear on August 18 for formal framing of charges in a case involving alleged sexual assault on a social media influencer.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Zafaryab took up a private complaint filed by the influencer against Butt and the other suspects.

The woman had approached the court in 2025, accusing the suspects of sexually assaulting and later blackmailing her. She said she had evidence to support her allegations, including WhatsApp messages, a medical report and her statement recorded under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.

Butt and the other suspects have denied the allegations and had obtained pre-arrest bail from a sessions court.

The case came amid another legal complaint involving the same woman. Last month, Nawab Town police registered a case against Butt and his associates over allegations that they assaulted several women and fired shots during an argument at a cafe.

In that complaint, the woman alleged that Butt attacked her and others during the incident at the cafe.
