Rajab Butt physically assaulted at Karachi's City Courts as bail extended until Jan 13

YouTuber Rajab Butt was reportedly assaulted at Karachi's City Courts on Monday as he turned up for the hearing of his bail plea in a case pertaining to allegedly hurting religious sentiments.

Butt appeared before an additional sessions judge (Central) as his interim pre-arrest bail, granted on December 20, was fixed today for further hearing.

The hearing was disrupted when Butt was physically assaulted, creating chaos in the courtroom. TikToker Nadeem Mubarak, popularly known as Nadeem Nani Wala, was also present at the court during the hearing.

Security personnel later intervened to bring the situation under control as the hearing could not proceed smoothly due to the disturbance.

However, the court extended the YouTuber's interim bail until January 23.

Both Butt and Mubarak are facing several cases and had recently returned to Pakistan earlier this month. They arrived on December 10 after securing 10-day protective bail from the Islamabad High Court.
