Renowned actor Nazish Jahangir has denied controversial remarks she reportedly made in response to online trolls criticising her over a statement regarding Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam.

Nazish maintained that the trolls attempted to tarnish her reputation and that of Babar Azam, whom they ardently defend on social media. She further stated that she “holds respect for the mothers and sisters of all individuals.”

She took to her Instagram story and clarified, “This is fake. I did not give any statement or reaction to our adorable trolls. It is simply not in my upbringing at all. It is sad how these barbarians show their true colors or defame not just me but also our Babar Azam. They are screaming for respect for him, I can only feel pity for them."

"The troll, the defamation, the abuse, none of these matters to me at all. I am only saying this because I don’t want to say any nonsense because there is a lot of difference between your caliber and mine. So go on,” she added.

Earlier, in a QnA session on Instagram, the ‘Berukhi’ actor was asked by a fan whether she would consider accepting a proposal from Babar Azam."

In response, Nazish said, “"Mazraat hi karungi [i'll apologise]," she answered.

However, the reply was not received well by the star player's fans, who began slamming Nazish on social media.

Responding to the online trolls, she lost her cool and used foul language in her recent Instagram story.

"Whoever got hurt by my statement can marry his sister to Babar Azam but leave me in peace," the 'Fanaa' actor wrote.
