Los Angeles: Renowned American singer Kehlani has released her new music video in support of Palestinians suffering under Israeli oppression. The proceeds from this video will be donated to Palestinian families.
According to foreign media reports, Kehlani has been actively participating in protests against Israel and in support of Gaza. She has been vocal about her stance on social media and has also been actively participating in anti-Israel rallies.
Kehlani released her new song "Next 2 U," in which she expresses solidarity by wearing a Palestinian keffiyeh jacket and waving the Palestinian flag in the video.
The singer stated that all earnings from the song will be distributed among Palestinian, Congolese, and Sudanese families. The outfits worn in the music video were designed by Palestinian designers.
She said, "I want to be the voice of Palestinians. As an artist and singer, music is my most important platform. The ongoing war in Gaza is one of the most horrific tragedies in history."
The music video comes after the release of rapper Macklemore’s “Hind’s Hall” on May 6.
His song came out as university and college campuses across the nation became the site of many pro-Palestinian protests and was named after a an academic building (Hamilton Hall) at Columbia University in New York, which has a long history of student protests.
