Wedding dates announced for CM Maryam Nawaz’s son Junaid Safdar

Preparations are underway for the wedding of Junaid Safdar, son of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, with a series of ceremonies scheduled for mid-January.

According to family sources, the wedding events will take place on January 16, 17 and 18, with celebrations planned in Lahore and at Jati Umrah, the Sharif family residence.

Sources said the mehndi ceremony and walima will be held at Jati Umrah, while other related events will take place in Lahore.

Junaid Safdar is set to marry Shanzay, the granddaughter of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Sheikh Rohail Asghar. The marriage was finalised around two months ago.

Sheikh Rohail Asghar confirmed the engagement, saying the proposal was welcomed by his family. He also said that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif had formally invited his family to dinner, where the two families met to discuss the wedding arrangements.

According to Rohail Asghar, members of both families, including Maryam Nawaz, participated in planning the ceremonies.
