Controversial playwright Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar stated that men who question a woman's earnings before marraige have forgotten chivalry.

He recently appeared in an interview where he shared his thoughts on masculinity and women's independence. Notably,  he criticised men who are overly concerned with a woman’s earnings, calling such behavior unmanly.

“I would advise men to be mennbecause these days, it’s hard to find a real man,” Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar said.

“Man is not someone who asks a woman amount of her salary before getting them married,” he maintained.

When asked to share his advice for women, he responded, "They are the core social unit; they run my society. I have always said they carry more responsibility than men."

His statement came after Pakistan People’s Party leader Sharmila Faruqui’s criticism, who urged people to boycott his drama serials due to what she described as his misogynistic views.

When prompted to give a piece of advice to Qamar during an interview, she instantly responded, “Uff, I don’t like him or want to talk about him.” Upon further probing, she confirmed her disapproval was rooted in what she believes to be his anti-women rhetoric.

“He is such a misogynist,” she stated firmly, adding that women should refrain from working in his productions. “I think nobody should even watch his dramas, and producers should stop producing his serials,” Faruqui said, calling for a complete boycott.
