Indian senior military official has categorically stated that New Delhi is not open to any dialogue on the Kashmir issue, reiterating its hardened stance on the matter.
Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi, the Vice Chief of the Indian Army, said the only remaining issue concerning Kashmir is AJK.
“As far as Kashmir is concerned, only one issue remains — that is Azad Kashmir,” he said during a media briefing, underscoring India’s long-standing claim over the territory.
General Dwivedi further asserted that India would not engage in any talks regarding Kashmir with Pakistan. “We are not ready for any dialogue on the Kashmir issue,” he stated.
Meanwhile, India's Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) affirmed that any communication with Pakistan would be limited strictly to the DGMO level. “Our contact will only be with the DGMO of Pakistan,” he said, reinforcing the military-to-military communication protocol in place to avoid escalation.
