Following the crackdown on the PTI protest in Islamabad, Polyclinic Hospital’s staff and medics told the BBC, “We were pressured to hand over the injured to the police.”

The BBC published a detailed report inlcuding accounts from staff at Polyclinic and PIMS hospitals, where wounded PTI protesters were brought after the security operation on Tuesday night.

Several doctors reported that injured patients began arriving in the evening.

“There were many who asked for their names to be crossed out, and many who requested that their names not be included in the record,” the report quoted a medic as saying.

A doctor and a staff member at the hospital stated, “The injured were saying they feared being detained if their names were mentioned in the record.”

Speaking to the BBC, a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader from Punjab, who was present at Polyclinic, revealed that he helped dozens of PTI workers get discharged from the hospital during the operation.

The report also noted that the PTI leader was trying to gather information about patients undergoing treatment at the hospital.

According to the Guardian, a doctor at an Islamabad hospital revealed that he treated at least 40 patients with gunshot wounds on the night of the crackdown.

The doctor confirmed seven deaths, with four patients in critical condition, and noted that eight more injured individuals were admitted later.

“All records of the dead and injured have been confiscated by authorities. We are not allowed to talk. Senior government officials are visiting the hospital to hide the records,” the doctor told the newspaper.
