The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is in the process of selecting a new Head of Women’s Cricket, with several candidates under consideration, including female police officer ASP Syeda Shehrbano Naqvi.
This move follows the recent resignation of Tania Mallick, who stepped down to pursue new career opportunities.
ASP Naqvi gained public attention earlier this year when she rescued a woman from a mob in Lahore’s Ichra Bazaar.
She has also been involved in community initiatives, including the inauguration of a unique Pet Park in Lahore alongside IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar.
In recent developments, Naqvi has been vocal regarding the Lahore police's stance on the alleged rape case involving Punjab College, further solidifying her presence in the public eye.
Another strong candidate for the position is Dr. Rafia Haider, the former deputy commissioner of Lahore. Sources within the PCB suggest that she is currently favored to take over the role.
The selection process for the new Head of Women’s Cricket is ongoing, with the PCB aiming to make a decision soon.
