10 militants, including mastermind of major attacks, killed in DI Khan IBO

Security forces carried out an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Kulachi tehsil of Dera Ismail Khan, killing 10 militants, including a khwarij commander and four Afghan nationals.

Four other terrorists were injured during the operation, media reports said, citing security sources.

Among those shot dead was khwariji Alam Mehsud, a high-profile militant. Mehsud is believed to have orchestrated several major attacks, including the 2008 assault on the Nawaz Kot post, the 2010 Bannu jailbreak, and the 2014 attack on an Army post.

Other militants identified by officials include khwariji Sari, son of Gul Nawaz; Khariji Sajid, son of Majeed; and Khariji Tariq, son of Hakeem.

The operation also led to the recovery of a huge cache of explosives, suicide vests, improvised explosive devices, and assorted weapons, officials said.
