11 killed, 6 injured in bus-trailer collision in Khairpur

At least 11 people were killed and six others critically injured in a horrific collision between a passenger bus and a trailer on the National Highway near Tando Masti, officials said.

According to a spokesperson for the motorway police, the accident allegedly occurred due to negligence and careless driving by the bus driver.

Upon receiving information, police teams rushed to the scene and immediately launched rescue operations. The injured and the deceased were shifted to nearby hospitals with the help of rescue services.

Senior officers are present at the site and are personally supervising the relief efforts. Rescue 1122 and local police also reached the scene promptly to assist in the operation.

Meanwhile, Sindh Inspector General of Police Javed Alam Odho directed SSP Khairpur to immediately reach the accident site and oversee the rescue work.

The IG Sindh also ordered that routes remain clear during the transfer of the injured to hospitals and instructed authorities to ensure relief activities in surrounding areas.

Motorway Police said efforts to restore traffic flow and clear the road are underway, while further investigation into the incident has been initiated.
