The US General Consulate recognised the efforts of 16 government officials in Karachi and announced appreciation certificates for their compassionate support of Onijah Andrew Robinson, who traveled to Pakistan to unite with her online lover. 

According to reports, at least 16 officials, including personnel from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), police, airport security, and medical staff, will receive appreciation certificates on Tuesday (tomorrow).

Sources said that Director FIA Karachi Nauman Siddiqui, Deputy Director Immigration Bahawal Dostu, Assistant Director Immigration Abdul Jabbar, and immigration officers Ghulam Sarwar and Umar Daraz will be honoured with the recognition certificate.

Similarly, police officials Shabana Jilani, Nousheen Akhtar, SHO airport Kaleem Moosa, protocol officers Syed Danish, Furqan Raheem, Sagheer Ahmed, Director Airport Security Force Ahsanullah, executive director airport staff Shahid Rasool, Joint Director Muhammad Sulaiman, Deputy Director Yahya Tanio, Director JPMC Chunni Laal will also be awarded certificates for their tireless efforts in handling the situation involving the foreign national.

Earlier, a day before departure, US woman Onijah had praised SHO Shabana Jilani for taking care of her, saying, “Shabana has been taking care of me,” she added while refusing to disclose her plans for returning home, adding, "It's private, but I do not have a plan to go. I am from Pakistan now."

Onijah Andrew Robinson, an American woman who arrived in Karachi from New York on October 11 in search of her online boyfriend, left Pakistan after a 120-day (four-month) stay and flew to the US via UAE.

However, she was detained by UAE authorities after she skipped her flight to New York and remained in Dubai.
