4 kids killed in rocket launcher shell explosion in Kashmore

Four children were killed when an old rocket launcher shell they stumbled upon while grazing cattle exploded in the Kashmore-Kandhkot district on Monday.

According to local residents, the children had been grazing their livestock in a nearby forest when they found the old and rusted shell, which detonated suddenly as they handled it.

The explosion claimed the lives of four children on the spot, while another was injured. Residents said that the deceased all belonged to the same family of the Golo tribe.

Police officials reached the site soon after the incident. They stated that the area has been completely sealed off and a search operation is underway.

Preliminary information suggested that the children believed the recovered shell was inactive and began playing with it before it exploded.

It is noteworthy that a similar tragedy occurred in September 2023, when a rocket-launcher projectile exploded in another area of Kandhkot, killing seven members of a single family, including four children.
