An investigation report revealed that Armughan, the prime suspect in the murder of 23-year-old Mustafa Amir, was involved in financial fraud through his call center and had previously been implicated in multiple cases, including attempted murder and terrorism.

During a police raid at Armughan’s residence in Khayaban-e-Momin, Karachi, on February 8, he opened fire on law enforcement officers, injuring two, including a DSP.

The accused had earlier been arrested by the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) in six criminal cases related to drug dealing, attempted murder, and terrorism. These cases were registered at various police stations, including Darakhshan, Sahil, Gizri, and Boat Basin.

According to the report, Armughan operated an illegal software house and a call center through which he defrauded foreigners of billions of dollars.

He also owned multiple digital currency accounts to manipulate cryptocurrency transactions. In an attempt to erase evidence of his crimes, he allegedly engaged the police in a violent clash during the raid to buy time for deleting crucial data.

Earlier, an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) granted the Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) a four-day physical remand of the main suspect, Armaghan.

The Sindh High Court approved all four petitions for Armughan's remand on Tuesday.  Additionally, the court referred the physical remand plea to ATC.

The SHC noted that an order by a local court had been tampered with by using white concealer to modify the police remand of the accused into judicial custody, which prevented the police from conducting their investigation.
