ADC Hidayat Buledi martyred while protecting women and children during BLA attack

Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Revenue Hidayatullah Buledi was martyred on Friday in a militant attack in Balochistan’s Surab city. The assailants also torched multiple government buildings and looted a bank during the assault.
Surab, located approximately 250 kilometers southwest of Quetta along the Quetta-Karachi Highway, came under siege when more than 60 heavily armed militants stormed the city, according to officials.
For over two hours, the militants raided key areas of the city, including the offices of the Deputy Commissioner, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Levies Force, and local police.

He further reported that the attackers looted a bank in Surab Bazaar and set fire to the homes of various government officials. The assault was described as a deliberate attempt to challenge the writ of the state.

Security forces launched a search operation to track down the perpetrators.
The banned separatist group Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for the attack.
According to the BBC Urdu, the militants entered Surab from multiple directions in the evening. After seizing control of key sites, they torched the residences of the Deputy Commissioner and Additional Deputy Commissioner, the local police station, the Levies Force outpost, and a bank.
Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti paid tribute to ADC Hidayat Buledi, stating on X that Buledi upheld Baloch traditions of bravery and fulfilled his duty to defend the Pakistani state.

“When the terrorists from Fitna-ul-Hindustan (BLA) opened fire on women and children in Surab’s market, Hidayatullah Buledi gave his life defending his people and homeland,” Bugti said.
Earlier this month, following an attack on a school bus in the Khuzdar district, the Pakistan Army’s public relations wing (ISPR) used the term “Fitna-ul-Hindustan” for the BLA for the first time, accusing India of backing such militant activities.
According to the ISPR, India was behind the May 21 school bus attack in Khuzdar where innocent children were killed and injured in a horrific explosion, “There is undeniable and concrete evidence of India’s involvement in these acts of terrorism,” the DG ISPR said.
