Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan’s sister Aleema Khan on Friday denied commenting on questions regarding the alleged audio that revealed a rift between former first lady Bushra Begum and Khan’s sisters.
The audio clip contained the recording of an alleged phone call between Bushra Begum and Latif Khosa where she can be heard complaining of an argument with Imran Khan’s sister.
“I have not heard the audio. I was told that it was a chat between Bushra Begum and lawyer Latif Khosa. The talk between a lawyer and client is confidential which should not be leaked,” she told journalists outside Islamabad High Court in Islamabad.
Aleema Khan made it clear that no family member of Imran Khan is running for the party position.
“I think Khan formulated a backup plan keeping in mind that the court might not overturn his conviction. It is an internal matter of the party,” she said while reacting to the nomination of Barrister Gohar Khan as PTI chief.
She brushed aside speculations of any change in party policies, saying that Barrister Khan was the PTI chief’s lawyer and spokesperson. “There is nothing to panic.”
It is to be noted that a recent audio leak of Bushra Bibi, the wife of Imran Khan, Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and her lawyer Latif Khosa emerged earlier in the day..
The leak suggests potential discord within the family, especially with Imran Khan currently in custody.
In the audio, Bushra Bibi discussed an incident involving Khan's sisters complaining about Khosa's alleged misconduct related to a case.
The conversation revolves around concerns raised by Bushra Bibi regarding Khan's safety, particularly the fear of poisoning when he was held in Attock jail in August.
