An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore on Saturday handed Shershah, the nephew of PTI founder Imran Khan and son of his sister Aleema Khan, in five-day police custody in a May 9 violence case.
Shershah was arrested on Friday and booked in the Jinnah House attack case, the same case in which his brother, Shahrez, has been arrested. His arrest came just a day after Shahrez was taken into custody.
Shershah was presented before ATC Judge Manzar Ali Gill under tight police security.
The investigating officer told the court that Shershah had been present at Jinnah House along with his cousin, Hassan Niazi, who is also a nephew of the PTI founder. The officer claimed that Shershah was seen inciting people to commit arson and vandalism and said video evidence supported the claim.
The prosecution played footage of the attack in court and requested a 30-day physical remand, stating that photogrammetric and polygraphic tests were needed.

Senior lawyer Salman Akram Raja, appearing for Shershah, opposed the request. He argued that arrests made 27 months after the incident lacked merit and noted that courts had discharged suspects in similar cases. He urged the court to deny the remand and warned that such practices could lead to “the entire city being taken into custody.”
After hearing arguments, the ATC reserved its decision and later granted police five days’ physical remand of Shershah.
Speaking to reporters outside the court, Aleema Khan said both her sons were now in custody. She maintained that their only fault was being related to Imran Khan.
“I have been told I will be arrested next. Whatever punishments they want to give, we are ready to face them,” she said, but added that “anyone involved in arson should be punished.”
