Karachi: Armaghan, the prime suspect in the Mustafa Amir murder case, alleged before an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) that his mother and lawyer were attempting to have him declared mentally unfit.

During the hearing, the accused lost his temper and created a disturbance inside the courtroom while arguing with both his mother and legal counsel.

claimed that those around him were motivated by financial interests and insisted that he was mentally sound.

The suspect further told the court that he did not require legal representation and intended to conduct his own defence in the case.

Separately, a case has also been registered against Armaghan over the alleged assault of a journalist.

The Anti-Terrorism Court later summoned prosecution witnesses and adjourned proceedings until 1 June.

Earlier, Sindh Police formally declared DSP Syed Ahsan Zulfiqar a martyr after he was killed in the line of duty following a shooting incident involving Armaghan.

According to police, the officer was wounded on February 8, 2025, during a raid at a bungalow in Khayaban-e-Momin, Defence’s Gizri area, where a team from the Anti-Violent Crime Cell had conducted an operation in order to recover abducted youth Mustafa Amir.
