Army Chief Gen Asim Munir named Field Marshal after Operation Bunyanum Marsoos

The Government of Pakistan approved the promotion of Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir to the rank of Field Marshal in recognition of his exceptional strategy during Marka e Haq and specifically Operation Bunyanum Marsoos.

During the cabinet meeting, the Prime Minister congratulated the entire nation on the outstanding success of Operation Bunyanum Marsoos, which crushed the enemy’s ambitions.

He praised General Asim Munir’s unparalleled leadership, saying Pakistan achieved a historic victory in the Marka e Haq under his command.

The federal cabinet formally approved the promotion of General Munir to Field Marshal, citing his superior strategic acumen and courageous leadership that ensured national security and defended Pakistan’s sovereignty during Operation Bunyanum Marsoos.

The federal cabinet unanimously agreed to extend the tenure of Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu beyond his current term.

In recognition of their invaluable contributions during Operation Bunyanum Marsoos, officers and personnel of the Pakistan Armed Forces, martyrs, and distinguished Pakistani citizens from various fields will be honored with high government awards.
