The Pakistan Army carried out a series of precision strikes targeting key hideouts of the Afghan Taliban and Fitna al-Khawarij in Afghanistan's Kandahar province and Kabul capital on Wednesday, state media reported, citing security sources.
It said that the army struck the Afghan Taliban’s Battalion Headquarters No. 4 and 8, as well as Border Brigade No. 5 in Kandahar. "The targets were carefully selected and located away from civilian areas, and were successfully destroyed," sources said.
In Kabul, they said that the operation targeted the command and leadership centers of the Khawarij network, which officials described as responsible for recent acts of cross-border terrorism.
