Pakistan Army vehemently dismissed the accusations of terrorism levelled by the Indian army chief General Upendra Dwivedi, terming them fabricated claims about the “non-existent terror infrastructure ,” and that New Delhi should abandon ‘self-delusion.’
Pakistan's military and Foreign Office issued strong rebuttals to Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi's recent accusations, labelling Pakistan as the "epicenter of terrorism" and claiming that 60% of terrorists killed in 2024 were Pakistani nationals.
General Dwivedi also accused Pakistan of inciting violence in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
"Insinuating Pakistan as the epicentre of terrorism by the Indian Army Chief is not only contrary to facts but also an exercise in futility to beat the dead horse of India's default position — blaming Pakistan for Indigenous reaction to state-sponsored brutality. It is a classic case of extreme duplicity," the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.
The ISPR further highlighted that such accusations are an attempt to distract from India's human rights violations in IIOJK, international assassinations, and the targeted hatred and killings of Indian Muslims within the country.
"Such oppression has only strengthened the resolve of Kashmiris to achieve their right to self-determination, enshrined in UN Security Council resolutions," the statement added.
The ISPR also reminded India of its transgressions against Pakistan, including the case of a senior Indian military officer in Pakistan's custody, who was caught orchestrating terror acts against civilians.
"Empathising with the victims of Indian Army's brutality, it is hoped that civility, professionalism, and norms of state-to-state behaviour would guide the conduct of Indian Army's leadership, rather than pandering to political exigencies," it added.
The Foreign Office also rejected the baseless claims.
Meanwhile, the Foreign Office also rejected the baseless claims of the Indian Defense Minister and the Chief of Army Staff.
The Foreign Office spokesperson clarified in a statement that occupied Kashmir is an internationally recognized disputed territory, its final status should be determined in accordance with the United Nations Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
The Foreign Office spokesperson said that on January 13 and 14, we strongly reject the baseless allegations and baseless claims of the Indian Defense Minister and the Army Chief. Jammu and Kashmir is an internationally recognized disputed territory, its final status should be determined in accordance with the United Nations Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
He said that India has no legal or moral basis to make fictitious claims on the territories of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, and the rhetoric of the Indian leadership cannot divert global attention from serious human rights violations.
It should be noted that Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi had falsely accused Pakistan of supporting Kashmiri resistance fighters, blaming the failures of his army in occupied Kashmir.
During a press conference in New Delhi, General Upendra Dwivedi had claimed that the situation in occupied Jammu and Kashmir was completely under control, and he also justified the presence of a large number of Indian troops in the region.
