At least 16 people died and several others were injured when a truck carrying members of the Kohli community plunged into a ravine near the Thana Bola Khan police station in Sindh's Jamshoro district.

According to police officials, the tragic incident occurred in the Taung area near the Bola Khan police station, located at the border of Balochistan and Jamshoro.

The passenger bus was reportedly transporting more than 40 people from the Kohli community who were returning to Badin after harvesting wheat.

The vehicle, loaded with passengers and sacks of wheat, lost control and fell into a deep ditch. Among the deceased were several women and children, while dozens sustained serious injuries.

Due to a lack of adequate medical facilities at the Taluka Hospital in Bola Khan, many of the injured did not receive timely treatment.

Five injured children were later shifted to Civil Hospital Hyderabad, where four of them succumbed to their injuries during treatment.

Rescue efforts were severely hampered by the difficult terrain, with it reportedly taking four to five hours to transport the injured to nearby hospitals.
