Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has rejected allegations regarding the prison conditions of the PTI founder.

He said claims made by Aleema Khan and other family members about mistreatment in jail were based on a “false narrative.” According to him, the facts have now clarified the situation.

In his statement, Attaullah Tarar said details about the former prime minister’s daily routine, diet plan, accommodation, and meals have been shared publicly.

He stated that these details remove all ambiguity. He maintained that the PTI founder is being provided all necessary facilities and is receiving privileges far greater than those available to an ordinary prisoner.

He stressed that there is no evidence of harsh treatment. He added that the government is ensuring compliance with prison rules and legal requirements.

Meanwhile, a report submitted to the Supreme Court by friend of the court Barrister Salman Safdar has raised concerns about the PTI founder’s health, particularly his eyesight.

The report stated that despite treatment, vision in his right eye has deteriorated to 15 percent. It recommended an immediate and comprehensive eye examination.

The report also mentioned that a medical check-up could be conducted by his personal physician Dr. Faisal Sultan, Dr. Asim Yousuf, or any other specialist.

It noted that until October 2025, his eyesight in both eyes was recorded as 6×6, which is considered normal. After that, he began experiencing persistent blurriness and dimness of vision.
