The administration of Adiala Jail has denied rumors circulating about the withdrawal of facilities for the imprisoned former Prime Minister Imran Khan, according to prison sources.
Media reports quoting sources clarified that Khan continues to receive all the amenities that he is entitled to under the jail manual.
Imran Khan, founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has been incarcerated for over a year following his arrest on May 9, 2023, in connection with a graft case.
Despite his party's claims that he is being denied proper facilities, prison officials assert that he has regular medical check-ups, access to two English newspapers, and uninterrupted electricity in his cell.
He also has a separate kitchen for meal preparation and is assisted by two laborers.
In response to earlier reports in August about alleged withdrawal of privileges, the jail administration had similarly refuted these claims.
The federal government even submitted a report to the Supreme Court earlier this year, which included images and details of the facilities provided to Khan, including an LED TV, a room cooler, and a study table with a chair.
Khan's arrest, which came after his ousting as prime minister, continues to be at the center of his ongoing legal battles.
