Senator Faisal Vawda has claimed that both government and PTI negotiators want Imran Khan to remain in prison.

Speaking to a private TV channel, Vawda commented on the recent verdict in the £190 million case, warning PTI against appealing the decision in the High Court, predicting that such an appeal would end in disappointment.

Vawda criticized the handling of corruption cases during the PTI government's tenure, stating, “When the cabinet was presented with this disastrous order, I said it would end in jail time. This was always a straightforward, open-and-shut case.”

He also accused PTI leaders of mishandling a settlement with the UK’s National Crime Agency (NCA), claiming that the country suffered a loss of Rs100 billion, with clear evidence of corruption.

The senator also addressed changes in Imran Khan's political and personal life since 2018, suggesting that they contributed to the downfall of the party. He argued that Imran Khan was honest before 2018, but his subsequent marriage led to chaos, corruption, and infighting.

Vawda further criticised the inconsistency in PTI’s stance toward Pakistan's military, noting, “Yesterday, the army was being praised; today, it’s being criticised. This inconsistency is damaging.”

Vawda predicted further challenges for PTI, stating that ongoing talks and political strategies would provide little relief.

He also claimed that several ministers from Imran Khan’s government have testified against him, alleging that their current statements conceal earlier betrayals.
