A Special Court Central, headed by Judge Shahrukh Arjumand, has issued an arrest warrant for Bushra Bibi, the spouse of PTI Founder Imran Khan, due to her repeated non-appearance in the Toshakhana 2 case.

The proceedings were held at Adiala Jail on Thursday.

Despite assurances from her legal representatives during the last hearing, Bushra Bibi failed to attend court for the tenth consecutive time.

In light of her ongoing absence, the court ordered the issuance of an arrest warrant and notified her guarantor to provide an explanation for the non-compliance.

At the beginning of the hearing, the court inquired about the whereabouts of the accused, Bushra Bibi. The judge noted that counsel Salman Safdar had previously assured the court of her appearance on this day.

Lawyer Usman Gul stated that Bushra Bibi has been named in multiple FIRs and has secured protective bail in some instances. He mentioned that she has approached the relevant court to seek bail in other cases.

"We assure the court of our full cooperation in the trial," he affirmed, adding, "Bushra Bibi will either appear in court on Monday or a representative will be appointed."

Special Public Prosecutor Zulfiqar Abbas Naqvi was present during the hearing. The court has postponed further proceedings until Monday.

Naqvi pointed out that this was the tenth hearing, and the suspects have yet to be indicted. He requested the issuance of Bushra Bibi's warrant, arguing that the trial should not be delayed due to her absence. He further stated that she should not receive any additional leniency for failing to appear in court.

PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar informed the court that Bushra Bibi was unwell and that multiple cases had been filed against her.

"The court should set a date, and Bushra Bibi will attend the next hearing," he pledged, alleging that cases against party leaders were being expedited.
