The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has suspended the flight operations of SereneAir, citing the airline’s failure to maintain any airworthy aircraft in its fleet.
According to an official notification issued on Friday, the CAA also directed the airline to surrender its Air Operator Certificate, stating that SereneAir had not complied with operational regulations.
The regulator noted that the airline no longer had a single serviceable aircraft, making it incapable of conducting flight operations in accordance with aviation safety requirements.
In response, SereneAir’s management maintained that one of its aircraft had been grounded in Saudi Arabia after a bird strike. The airline said it had requested the CAA to allow it to repatriate passengers stranded abroad.
SereneAir, launched in 2017 as a private domestic carrier, has faced repeated operational challenges in recent years, including financial difficulties and fleet limitations.
