A cloudburst struck Hyderabad city, causing heavy downpours that led to severe urban flooding in low-lying areas.

Heavy rain accompanied by strong winds lashed Hyderabad, Tando Allahyar, Tando Muhammad Khan, Jamshoro, Matiari, and Hala, submerging several low-lying neighborhoods.

Deputy Commissioner Zain-ul-Abideen confirmed the cloudburst in Hyderabad and said that an alert had been issued. Efforts are underway to operate pumping stations to drain water.

He added that the irrigation department has been instructed to reduce the water level of the Phuleli Canal to zero. Due to power outages, drainage operations are being carried out using generators.
