COAS General Asim Munir visits IDEAS 2024, inspects various stalls

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir, NI (M) visited the International Defence Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS-2024) at the Karachi Expo Centre yesterday.

During his visit, he praised the active participation of defense manufacturers from friendly nations and was impressed by the display of arms and equipment by both domestic and international exhibitors .

The exhibition has attracted a significant number of participants, with 557 exhibitors from 36 countries, including 333 international and 224 domestic exhibitors.

Notably, 17 countries are participating for the first time. Over 300 foreign delegates from 53 countries attended the event, showing full confidence in Pakistan's defense industry.

General Munir also engaged in meaningful interactions with foreign military officials and defense delegates, fostering cooperation and understanding.

A major highlight of the event was the inauguration of the Shahpar-III, a state-of-the-art combat Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) developed by Global Industrial Defence Solutions (GIDS) Pakistan.

The 12th Edition of IDEAS 2024, which started on November 19, will conclude on November 22, 2024.

Upon his arrival in Karachi, General Munir was warmly received by Lieutenant General Babar Iftikhar, Corps Commander Karachi.
