A Rawalpindi ATC issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Aleema Khan, after she failed to appear for a case hearing of Nov 26 protest at D-Chowk.

The protest was called by PTI leader Imran Khan demanding the restoration of PTI’s electoral mandate, the release of detained party leaders, and the annulment of the 26th Constitutional Amendment.

According to reports, Aleema Khan’s lawyer requested an exemption from personal appearance during the hearing on Monday. The plea was made due to difficulties caused by the blocking of her bank accounts, identity card and passport.

ATC Judge Amjad Ali Shah ordered Aleema Khan to be produced before the court by Tuesday, while ordering that her accounts and identity documents would remain blocked until she appears. Notices were also issued to her guarantors.

The case is registered at Sadiqabad Police Station and involves Aleema and ten others facing charges related to the protest.
