The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Rawalpindi has directed authorities to provide books to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and allow him to speak with his children.

During a hearing on the case concerning the non-provision of books and communication restrictions with his children, ATC Judge Amjad Ali Shah presided over the proceedings. Imran Khan’s lawyer, Muhammad Faisal Malik, represented him in court.

Following the hearing, the court approved both of Khan’s petitions and issued immediate orders for the jail authorities to provide him with books and facilitate his conversation with his children before Eid.

The court emphasised that Eid is a religious festival, and the petitioner must be allowed to speak with his children without delay.

Earlier, the ATC has sought a report from Adiala Jail authorities on Thursday regarding the implementation of its orders.

During the proceedings, Khan’s lawyer argued that the prosecution has no right to object to the jail facilities provided to any prisoner, as no one can be deprived of their fundamental rights.

After hearing arguments from both sides, the court adjourned the hearing until today (Friday).
