Karachi Police Chief Javed Alam Odho expressed his concerns over the increasing number of criminals securing employment as security guards, which enables them to carry out a range of criminal acts in the metropolis.
Additional Inspector General of Police (AIG) Javed Alam Odho made these remarks at the Boat Basin Police Station during the inauguration of eight modern cameras installed around the Chinese Consulate on behalf of Community Policing Karachi.
He stated that the home department is going to enact a law regarding security guards. This law will enable them to take action on many issues.
He also warned that if the owners of the security companies do not show responsibility, authorities will file a case under the Criminal Act against them
Javed Alam remarked that the Special Branch, IB and other agencies are working to trace out such people.
Additional IG further informed that the strict action is ongoing against display of black glasses, fancy number plates and weapons. About six thousand challans have been issued in a week while we have registered about 940 cases, seized vehicles and people are also arrested.
