Karachi is expected to receive rainfall today as a deep depression in the Arabian Sea has intensified into a cyclone. The storm, named Shakti, could bring rain within the next 24 hours, according to weather updates.

Winds within the cyclone are expected to reach speeds of up to 75 km/h, while the system is likely to remain in the Arabian Sea until October 6. The cyclone, named by Sri Lanka, carries the meaning of “power.”

Karachi is currently experiencing pleasant weather, with cloud cover and cool sea breezes keeping temperatures lower after an unusually hot start to October.

At present, Cyclone Shakti is located around 360 km from Karachi. Its influence is also expected to extend towards Balochistan, bringing rainfall to different areas of the province.

Fishermen have been strictly advised to avoid venturing into the sea due to rising water levels caused by the cyclone.
