The United States President Donald Trump announced on Saturday that Pakistan and India agreed to a “full and immediate ceasefire” after a week-long military escalation between nuclear-armed neighbours in South Asia. 

In a social media post Donald Trump wrote, “After a long night of talks mediated by the United States, I’m pleased to announce that India and Pakistan have agreed to a full and immediate ceasefire.”

“Congratulations to both countries on using common sense and great intelligence. Thank you for your attention to this matter,” he added.

The unannounced war was initiated from the India after a cross-border military asssault on the civilian population through midnight air strikes on May 6-7. In the immediate retaliation, Pakistan downed India’s three Rafale and two other warplanes. 

Subsequently, Pakistan had witnessed Israeli-made Indian drone attacks in the residential areas of Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi, Sialkot, Rahim Yar Khan, and other cities. However, more than 77 of them were crashed and damaged by the Pakistan Air Force (PAF).

However, on Friday, another military repression was noticed by Pakistan when India made an unsuccessful attempt to hit Rawalpindi with a missile. 

In response, Pakistan launched Operation “Bunyan ul Mursoos” to hit several Indian airbases, military installations, and other power sectors. Pakistan also launched a cyber attack to hack Indian sites. 

In the recent, the US president Donald Trump announced ceasefire to be signed between both country, and both neighbor are ready for truce.
