A deep depression in the northeast Arabian Sea is expected to intensify into a cyclonic storm by Friday night and strengthen further into a severe cyclonic storm within the next 24 hours, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said in its latest advisory.

According to the PMD, the weather system may bring light to moderate rain and thunderstorms in several Sindh districts, including Tharparkar, Umerkot, Badin, Thatta, Sujawal, Tando Muhammad Khan, Hyderabad, Matiari, and Jamshoro. Karachi is also likely to receive isolated showers.

The department has forecast hot and dry weather for other parts of Sindh. It added that sea conditions near the coast are expected to remain “rough to very rough,” with squally winds blowing at 40–50 kilometres per hour, gusting up to 55 km/h. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the deep sea until Sunday.

The advisory further cautioned that windstorms and lightning could damage vulnerable structures such as temporary houses, electric poles, billboards, vehicles, and solar panels.

For Karachi, the PMD predicted mostly cloudy and humid weather with chances of drizzle on Saturday. Maximum temperatures are expected to range between 32°C and 34°C, with humidity levels of 75–85% in the morning and 60–70% in the evening.
