Aleema Khan, sister of PTI founder Imran Khan, recently appeared in an interview on Sky News. But soon after her interview aired, a deepfake clip began circulating on social media, drawing attention, particularly from Indian media.
It falsely claimed that she made remarks about the Pakistan-India war and blamed the army for it.
One X account posted the doctored one-minute clip with the caption: “Now this is insane… She is speaking as if she is a BJP leader!”.
In the fake video, interviewer Yalda Hakim appears to question Khan about the May conflict with India, followed by an AI-generated voice mimicking Khan, who then blames the army for the conflict and terms her brother "pure liberal, who always tries to befriend India and even BJP".
A review of the original Sky News broadcast confirmed that Aleema Khan made no such remarks.
This is terrifying — a deepfake of my interview with Imran Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, is circulating. It falsely claims we discussed the Pakistan-India war earlier this year. We did NOT. This clip is completely fake. https://t.co/ucbvBHqTKp

Sky News host Yalda Hakim also termed the video fake, saying: "This is terrifying — a deepfake of my interview with Imran Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, is circulating. It falsely claims we discussed the Pakistan-India war earlier this year. We did NOT. This clip is completely fake."
