The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted that the Shawwal moon is unlikely to be sighted on March 19.

According to the Met Office, the Shawwal moon is not expected to be visible on March 19. It said that there is a possibility of sighting the crescent on March 20, which would mark Eidul Fitr on March 21, Saturday.

Ramazan in Pakistan began on February 19 after the moon for the holy month was sighted on the 29th of Sha’ban.

The UAE has officially announced the Eid al-Fitr 2026 holidays, confirming a four-day public sector break and at least a three-day holiday for private sector employees. The holidays will run from Thursday, March 19, 2026, to Sunday, March 22, 2026.

Eid al-Fitr marks the conclusion of the holy month of Ramazan, during which the faithful fast from dawn to sunset.
