Islamabad: Former leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Javed Badr, has issued a public apology to PML-N President Nawaz Sharif in an open letter, acknowledging his past mistakes and actions.
In the letter, Badr stated, "I apologize for my misconduct, false allegations, and spreading of malicious propaganda."
He expressed hope that Nawaz Sharif would forgive him, considering his actions to be the result of ignorance and naivety.
Badr further clarified that the apology was written purely out of fear of the hereafter and the voice of his conscience, with no external pressure or selfish motivation.
He admitted that for over a decade, he had worked alongside PTI's founder to mislead the nation's youth politically and extended an apology to their parents and the nation for this misguidance.
Badr also acknowledged the unjust cases filed against Nawaz Sharif and his imprisonment, asserting that "Allah's justice is true, and you have regained your honor and status."
Expressing regret over the toxic political atmosphere created by his party, Badr lamented the damage caused to the minds of young people, warning that the consequences of this would be felt for years to come.
He also mentioned that he felt compelled to leave PTI when Usman Buzdar was appointed as Chief Minister, and Bushra Bibi was given free rein to indulge in corruption.
In the concluding remarks of the letter, Badr praised Nawaz Sharif and his team for their role in bringing stability to Pakistan and promised that if they ever met in person, he would confess his mistakes.
