Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader and former president Asif Ali Zardari's sister, Faryal Talpur, has emerged as the strong candidate for the coveted post of Sindh Chief Minister, sources said on Tuesday.
Former chief minister Murad Ali Shah, along with others, is reportedly among the candidates for the position of Sindh Chief Ministership.
Sources within the PPP said if Bilawal Bhutto and Asif Zardari decline the role in central government, Faryal Talpur could be appointed as the Chief Minister.
Faryal Talpur has been elected as a member of the Sindh Assembly for the second time and she is a seasoned candidate.
She was also considered for the position of Chief Minister in 2018.
PPP is set to establish a government in Sindh, having secured over 100 seats in the provincial assembly.
Out of the 130 general seats in the Sindh Assembly, the PPP has emerged victorious in 84, and it is anticipated to gain 20 reserved seats for women and six for members of religious minorities, bringing their expected total to 110 members.
