The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has unearthed a series of illicit financial activities of Armaghan Qureshi, the prime suspect in the high-profile Mustafa Amir murder. Investigation revealed his involvement in hawala/hundi, illegal digital currency transactions, and other sophisticated money frauds.

He was booked by the anti-money laundering circle of FIA, as per report.

According to the first information report (FIR), the suspect had been earning $300,000 to $400,000 per month, transforming it into digital currency. At least eight cars were purchased with that digital currency.

The FIA further alleged that Armaghan was involved in financial fraud targeting foreigners. Operating a call center, he contacted American citizens, obtained their personal information, and fraudulently extracted money from them.

The fraudulent money was transferred into two accounts that had been opened by his employers.

FIA said the suspect had been running the call centre since 2018, where he was deceiving an average of five people, regularly.

The suspect has eight cars worth millions of rupees, five out of which were sold before his arrest, the report noted, adding that the illicit financial operations were reportedly managed by Armaghan and his father, Kamran Asghar Qureshi.

Notably, the Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) of the Karachi Police had arrested Armaghan’s father, Kamran Asghar Qureshi on March 20, from his residence over his alleged involvement in drug peddling.
